Job summary

Pratt & Whitney, a RTX company, seeks a seasoned Structural Engineer to perform advanced analysis on aircraft engine components in a hybrid role. You will lead FE analyses and collaborate with cross-functional teams to support design, manufacturing and field activities.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s in aerospace, mechanical, or civil engineering, 8+ years in engineering and 4+ years in structural analysis, and US citizenship. Travel up to 10% may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in Aerospace, Mechanical or Civil Engineering.
• 8 years of engineering experience; advanced degree with 5 years acceptable.
• 4 years of experience with structural analysis.
• U.S. citizenship required for program access.

Responsibilities

• Execute complex structural analysis via hand calculations, 2D and 3D FEM modeling.
• Provide oversight and technical guidance for less experienced engineers.
• Perform structural analysis and support all design phases and manufacturing.
• Use FEM and classical methods for strength, vibration, fatigue life, and fracture mechanics.
• Support production and in-service field investigations.
• Document analysis and present results to integrated product teams and customers.
• Participate on multi-discipline teams as the structures expert.
• Travel up to 10%.
• Communicate in English with customers and colleagues.
