Job summary

Manatt, Phelps & Phillips, LLP is seeking a Senior Compliance Attorney to join the Legal and Risk Management team. You will evaluate, negotiate, interpret, and implement client retention documentation, including OCGs, NDAs, and engagement terms.

You will reconcile client requirements with firm ethics, risk tolerance, and business goals, while contributing to policy enhancements and training within a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Must be currently licensed in good standing in a U.S. state.
• Minimum of five years’ law firm experience at an AmLaw 100 firm, with at least four years handling review/negotiation of outside counsel guidelines.
• Effective and succinct oral and written communication.
• Experience with legal ethics and privilege issues.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Review outside counsel guidelines, NDAs, BAs, and RFP terms and advise on firm compliance.
• Draft and revise client engagement terms and contracts with internal stakeholders.
• Lead negotiations with clients to address priorities while protecting firm interests.
• Monitor status of OCG responses and correspondence.
• Coordinate contract version control and redline comparisons.
