Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is required.
• Typically eight years of claims experience.
• Professional designation is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manages highly complex investigations of claims, including coverage issues, liability and damages.
• Coordinates discovery and litigation strategy with staff counsel or panel attorneys.
• Negotiates highly complex settlement packages and authorises payment within scope of authority.
• Coordinates third party recovery with subrogation/salvage unit.
• Makes recommendations on claims processes and resolution strategies to management.
• Analyzes claims activities and presents reports to management and partners.
• Works with attorneys, account representatives, agents, doctors and insureds on complex claims.
• Keeps current on state regulations and industry trends; may participate in trade groups.
• Provides guidance to less experienced claims staff and other areas.
