Job summary

CNA Insurance is seeking an experienced Senior Claims professional to manage the most complex commercial claims with national scope. The role requires deep knowledge of coverage, negotiation, and litigation management, working closely with senior leaders in a flexible, hybrid model.

Ideal candidates bring extensive experience with catastrophic injuries across auto/trucking, GL, and construction lines, plus strong analytical and communication skills to present to executives and clients.

Qualifications

• Expert knowledge of commercial insurance industry, products, policy language, coverage, and claim practices.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to develop collaborative working relationships and articulate complex claim facts to senior management.
• Demonstrated analytical and investigative mindset with critical thinking skills and ability to make sound business decisions.
• Extensive experience in leading complex negotiations and developing resolution strategies.
• Ability to lead multiple and shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn business-related software.

Responsibilities

• Manages an inventory of the most complex commercial claims, with multi-year exposure, following protocols for coverage determinations, investigations and resolution strategies.
• Ensures exceptional customer service by driving improvements for all aspects of the claim/account and achieving quality and cycle time standards.
• Verifies coverage, sets and manages reserves by interpreting policy language and partnering with coverage counsel as needed.
• Leads focused investigations to determine compensability, liability and damages by gathering information and coordinating with experts.
• Drives resolution by collaborating with internal and external partners to manage reserves, settlements and litigation as needed.
• Establishes and manages significant claim budgets and resources for timely resolution.
• Mentors and trains less experienced Claim Professionals.
