Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
• Professional designation preferred.
• Typically a minimum eight years claims experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage highly complex investigations of claims, including coverage issues, liability, compensability and damages.
• Determine if a major claim should be settled or litigated and implement an appropriate resolution strategy.
• Manage all types of investigative activity or litigation on major claims and reserve appropriately.
• Coordinate discovery and litigation strategy with staff counsel or panel attorneys.
• Negotiate highly complex settlement packages and authorize payments within authority.
• Coordinate third party recovery with subrogation/salvage unit.
• Provide guidance and recommendations on claims processes and resolution strategies to management.
• Analyze claims activities and present reports to management and internal partners.
• Interact with attorneys, account representatives, agents, doctors and insureds regarding disposition of complex claims.
• Keep current on state/territory regulations and industry trends.
