Job summary

Selective Insurance seeks a senior claims professional to handle the company’s most complex and challenging claims. You will conduct coverage analysis, investigate, evaluate, negotiate, and disposition claims while managing litigation and ensuring adherence to company policies and authority levels.

This role requires strong communication, strategic negotiation, and leadership in coordinating with stakeholders, mediations, arbitrations, and trials, with travel up to 20%.

Qualifications

• Experience in complex coverage analysis and large loss evaluations.
• Strong negotiation, communication, and reasoning skills.
• Proven ability to present and advocate claims strategy.
• Multi-State licensing and driving license required.

Responsibilities

• Effectively evaluate and resolve coverage issues for all lines of business.
• Investigate claims via phone, written correspondence, and interviews.
• Manage vendors and expenses efficiently.
• Analyze information to determine extent of loss and assign experts.
• Negotiate and resolve claims within delegated authority.
• Prepare reports for claims, underwriting, reinsurance, and actuarial teams.
