Job summary

Hiscox USA seeks a Complex Claims Specialist for Miscellaneous Professional Liability to manage mid-to-high severity claims from inception to resolution. You will coordinate with insureds, brokers, outside counsel and experts, steering investigations and negotiations and guiding litigation when required.

The role requires 6+ years of professional liability experience, a JD preferred, and strong mentoring abilities in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional liability or specialty/financial lines claims handling.
• JD from ABA-accredited law school may supplement claims handling experience.
• Proven ability to positively affect complex claims outcomes through investigation and negotiation.
• Licensing: adjuster license required within 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Adjust and resolve complex mid-to-high severity claims including all phases of litigation.
• Draft complex coverage letters, including reservation of rights and denial letters.
• Review claim documentation and legal filings; support defense strategy.
• Mentor team members and lead mediations/arbitrations as needed.
• Document claim files with all relevant materials per policy and regulatory requirements.
