Job summary

City of Cleveland is seeking a Community Relations Representative III to promote amicable relations among diverse community groups and coordinate with the Cleveland Division of Police on outreach initiatives.

The role emphasizes building relationships with immigrant and ethnic communities, collecting program data, and reporting on outreach effectiveness. A strong background in public administration or social services is expected.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Bachelor's Degree in Social Sciences, Public Administration, Political Science, Communications, or Liberal Arts is required.
• Four years of full-time paid progressively responsible experience in program administration in a Social Service, Public Administration, or Not-For-Profit environment is required.
• Substitution: One year of relative experience will substitute for each year of college education lacking.
• A valid State of Ohio Driver's License is Required.
• Must be able to lift and carry 30 pounds.
• Two years of full-time work experience in mediation, conflict resolution, and alternative dispute resolution (preferred).
• Forty CEUs in Conflict Resolution/Mediation (preferred).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Under general administrative direction, researches and develops programs designed to promote amicable relations among racial and cultural groups.
• Collaborates with the Cleveland Division of Police to develop and implement strategies to maintain and improve police/community relations in the assigned district.
• Develops relationships with diverse and ethnic groups relocating into the City of Cleveland.
• Collects data and provides reports to measure and evaluate the effectiveness of the Community Relations Board outreach programs.
• Performs other job-related duties as required.
