Job summary

CesiumAstro in Austin, TX is seeking a Communication Systems Engineer Modeling & Simulation II to help design, develop, and test communications systems for space and airborne platforms. You will apply systems engineering to improve performance and support products through the lifecycle.

The role involves cross-functional collaboration with RF, software, electrical, mechanical, and test teams, plus modeling, verification, and documentation to drive architecture trade studies and system

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related engineering field with 2–5 years of experience.
Experience with systems modeling, link analysis, performance evaluation, and simulations.
Understanding of digital communications, RF fundamentals, networking, and signal processing.
Familiarity with modeling tools and engineering documentation standards.
Proficiency with MATLAB, Simulink, STK, Python; DOORS/Jira/Confluence are a plus.
MS Office proficiency and ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

Design and develop communications system architectures and performance models.
Perform system modeling, link analysis, and simulations for architecture trade studies.
Review requirements, interface specs, and documentation for implementation.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams across systems, software, RF, and mechanical disciplines.
Prepare technical documentation, verification reports, and engineering change records.
Support testing, validation, integration, and troubleshooting across the lifecycle.
