Busey Bank is seeking an experienced Commercial Underwriter II in Edwardsville, IL to provide accurate, timely credit underwriting to support relationship managers and portfolio management. The role involves analyzing financial data, assessing risk, and preparing clear credit memos to inform lending decisions.

The position emphasizes collaboration with lending staff, adherence to policy, and participation in pipeline activities.

Qualifications

• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge of financial accounting.

Responsibilities

• Spread and analyze financial statements incl. DSCR/FCC per guidelines.
• Use cash flow, liquidity, profitability and leverage to assess credit risk.
• Prepare CCAR memos with loan risk details for approvals or waivers.
• Evaluate collateral and other credit information.
• Support portfolio management: covenant testing, base reports, portfolio reviews.
• Assist Relationship Managers with opportunity memos.
• Maintain knowledge of loan policy and systems (nCino).
• Assist sales process with customer/prospect calls.
• Approve loans within authority or recommend outside authority.
• Participate in pipeline meetings and upcoming renewals.
