Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Six to eight years of underwriting experience in commercial lines.
• Deep knowledge of commercial lines products and local insurance market.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills with agents and brokers.
• CPCU designation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage the profitability, growth, and retention of an assigned book of business.
• Underwrite and negotiate complex customer accounts to minimize risk and maximize profitability.
• Cultivate and maintain relationships with internal partners to drive cross-selling and sales plans.
• Meet regularly with agents and brokers to market and sell Travelers products and grow accounts.
• Identify and capture new business opportunities using consultative marketing and sales skills.
• Develop agency sales plans and partner with the Managing Director to execute region plans.
• Mentor less experienced Account Executives as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
