Job summary

Columbia Bank in Irvine, CA is recruiting an experienced Commercial Underwriter to assess Middle Market credit requests, including working capital and real estate loans. You will collaborate with Client Solutions Managers and Relationship Managers to craft precise credit recommendations and ensure compliance with bank policies.

We seek a candidate with 7–10 years in commercial underwriting, strong financial analysis skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks while meeting deadlines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Accounting, or equivalent work experience (Required)
• 7-10 years of commercial underwriting/credit analysis experience or relevant lending experience (Required)
• Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong credit and credit quality skills including cash flow analysis.

Responsibilities

• Analyze business, industry, financial data and other supporting credit information to identify key risks and support credit recommendation.
• Prepare timely, concise credit recommendations with accurate risk ratings and policy compliance.
• Monitor borrower performance and covenant calculations; coordinate with clients and CSMs to resolve issues.
• Collaborate with CSMs and Relationship Managers to identify lending opportunities and discuss loan structures.
• Oversee work of junior underwriters or credit analysts and provide guidance.
