Job summary

Columbia Bank is seeking an experienced Underwriting professional to evaluate Middle Market credit requests, including working capital lines, asset-based lines, CRE loans, and equipment financing. You will work with CSMs and Relationship Managers to present solid, well-supported credit recommendations and risk mitigations.

In this onsite Santa Barbara role, you will monitor borrower performance, spread financial statements, and ensure adherence to bank policies across the loan portfolio.

Qualifications

• 7-10 years of commercial underwriting/credit analysis experience.
• Advanced knowledge of credit policies, procedures and documentation.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to train and present to audiences of various sizes.
• Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Underwrites new and renewal Middle Market credit requests.
• Collaborates with CSMs and Relationship Managers to present findings and risk mitigations.
• Prepares timely, concise credit recommendations with required documentation.
• Monitors borrower financial performance and spreads financial statements.
• Coaches, mentors or trains others as subject matter expert.
• Ensures compliance with bank regulations and internal policies.
