Job summary

The Travelers Indemnity Company is seeking an Account Executive Officer for Commercial Accounts in Phoenix. You will partner with agents and brokers to provide property, general liability, commercial auto, and workers’ compensation coverage for new and renewal business.

The role requires independent risk assessment and strong relationship-building to drive profitability. Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor’s degree with 6–8 years of underwriting in commercial lines and CPCU designation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Six to eight years of underwriting experience in commercial lines.
• Deep knowledge of commercial lines products and the local insurance market.
• Strong critical thinking to address underwriting, marketing or financial challenges.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills with agents and brokers.

Responsibilities

• Manage profitability, growth, and retention of an assigned book of business.
• Underwrite and negotiate complex customer accounts to minimize risk and maximize profitability.
• Cultivate relationships with internal partners to create sales plans and identify cross-selling opportunities.
• Meet with agents and brokers in person to market and sell Travelers products and write/retain accounts.
• Identify and capture new business opportunities using consultative marketing and sales skills.
• Develop agency sales plans and collaborate with the Managing Director on regional sales plans.
• Assist in training and mentoring less experienced Account Executives.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
