Job summary

South State Bank in Charleston, SC is seeking a Commercial Portfolio Manager II to support the commercial loan and deposit portfolio under relationship managers. You will deliver underwriting, portfolio management, and superior client service to commercial, CRE or middle-market clients.

The role requires a four-year degree in Business Administration, Finance or related field, 4–6 years of credit analysis experience, knowledge of lending regulations, and a collaborative, detail‑oriented approach.

Qualifications

• Four-year degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or related field.
• 4–6 years of credit analysis, commercial banking, with at least 2 years portfolio management/underwriting.
• Knowledge of Federal and State lending regulations and bank policies.

Responsibilities

• Analyze financial information to evaluate creditworthiness of loan requests and ongoing portfolio management.
• Prepare credit packages with borrower analysis, cash flow and risk assessment.
• Guide loan requests through Credit Approval Process and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Maintain positive relationships with internal partners and assist on calls with customers as needed.

Education

Four-year degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or related field

Graduation from a recognized school of banking is asset or equivalent experience
