Job summary

Popular Bank in New York City is seeking a Sr Commercial Relationship Officer for CRE to lead development and management of a commercial lending portfolio with heavy emphasis on deposits and loans. The role involves client visits, financial analysis, and structuring loan terms to support growth and profitability.

The position requires at least 5 years in commercial credit, strong sales ability, and proven relationship management skills.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial credit with an established portfolio.
• Effective sales ability and persuasiveness.

Responsibilities

• Be responsible for developing a commercial customer portfolio and managing customer relationships of this portfolios. These created portfolios should have a heavy emphasis on deposits as well as loans. Multifamily construction lending experience preferred.
• Visit with clients and prospective clients regularly, interview and analyze the financial structure of customers and prospects, and recommend products or applicable services.
• Compile loan packages, financial proposals, and facilitate negotiation of loan structure with applicant including loan amount, loan term, pricing, fees, loan repayment options, and other credit terms.
• Analyze applicant financial status, credit, and property evaluation to determine feasibility of granting loan. Correspond with customers throughout the loan process and serve as liason between customer and the credit team to resolve questions regarding the application information.
• Review and analyze commercial loan reports, direct liability, non-performing, new loans, and payment. Assure timely loan closing and funding activities.
• Build effective relationships and trust with clients and potential clients by listening to and uncovering their needs and educating them about the bank products and services that are most appropriate for their situation.
