Job summary

Firstnewyork is seeking a Commercial Loan Officer to drive business growth through client relationship management and strategic lending. You will negotiate terms, assess credit requests, and promote the credit union’s commercial products to local businesses.

The role requires a proactive sales mindset, strong financial analysis skills, and the ability to travel to events and other credit union facilities as needed.

Qualifications

• Two to five years financial or business lending experience.
• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Must be self‑directed, motivated, organized, detail oriented and possess excellent oral & written presentation skills.
• Must have a demonstrable record in establishing new business lending/banking relationships and achieving annual goals.
• Must be able to work independently with limited supervision and in a team environment.
• Must be proficient in analyzing and reporting on financial data, both verbally and in written form.
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Establish and sustain successful business member relationships that maximize sales and revenue of loans, deposits, and products/services.
• Develop and negotiate terms of credit, including interest rates, loan structure, and collateral requirements.
• Independently target the local business market to build awareness, brand image, credibility and new business.
• Research and recommend products and services to strengthen business presence in the community.
• Create and engage in networking opportunities by scheduling and attending business appointments and visits.
