Job summary

Republic Bank is seeking a Commercial Banking Officer to call on business clients for depository, lending and fee-based opportunities in our market. This role targets operating companies with solid growth potential and a track record of successful credit analysis and relationship building.

You will analyze financial statements, structure loan terms, and manage cross-sell opportunities with Treasury Management and other bank teams.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years banking experience with at least 1 year of direct business lending experience required.
• Proficient in underwriting business loans involving commercial real estate, accounts receivable, inventory, and equipment.
• Experience with working capital lines of credit and letters of credit required.
• Familiarity with SBA loan programs and regulatory/compliance basics.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office products and internet applications.

Responsibilities

• Primarily focused on new business development by sourcing, developing, and documenting calls on prospective customers and referral sources.
• Manage commercial banking relationships, including analyzing business financials, income statements and balance sheets.
• Negotiate and structure new loan terms and manage renewal opportunities.
• Work with Treasury Management to identify and structure depository opportunities.
• Manage portfolio delinquencies within assigned and/or developed portfolio.
• Collaborate with Merchant Services and Credit Card teams to develop opportunities.
• Participate in community volunteerism on civic and non-profit boards.
• Support the collection of past due loans.
• Obtain annual financial statements for commercial credit analysts' evaluation.
• Respond to referrals from Senior Management and other stakeholders.
• Maintain and enhance relationships with customers and referral sources.
• Cross-sell all company products and services.
• Learn the bank's credit culture to present appropriate credits for approval.
• Stay compliant with evolving regulations and help implement them when required.
