Job summary

Modigent is seeking a Service Technician III to operate as a senior/journeyman-level expert, independently handling complex commercial HVAC service calls nationwide, including Tampa. You will lead service efforts on challenging jobs, perform advanced diagnostics, and ensure code compliance, energy efficiency, and customer satisfaction.

This role mentors junior technicians, documents service activities, and maintains records for billing and warranty.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in commercial HVAC service, repair, and maintenance.
• High school diploma or GED; trade training preferred.
• EPA 608 (Universal preferred); additional certs (NATE, OSHA) a plus.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and access confined spaces.
• Field-based role with safety-first requirements and regional travel.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain complex HVAC systems (RTUs, chillers, boilers, hydronics, controls).
• Perform major component replacements and refrigerant handling.
• Conduct preventive maintenance, performance testing, and energy optimization.
• Lead full service calls from dispatch to completion; coordinate parts and customer communications.
• Ensure compliance with codes, EPA regulations, and safety standards.
• Document activities with work orders, reports, and photos for records and billing.
• Mentor Service Technician I and II and promote safety and quality.
