Amerant Bank NA is seeking a senior underwriting leader to supervise a team responsible for monitoring and originating loans across C&I and corporate-structured transactions. You'll ensure quality credit assessments, collaborate with multiple bank units, and guide the team through complex analyses.

The role emphasizes risk management, covenant testing, and compliance with regulatory requirements while supporting portfolio performance and deal structuring.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting or finance required; master’s preferred.
• 10+ years of professional experience in credit underwriting/credit analysis/portfolio management.
• 5+ years of supervisory experience in a banking or financial institution.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise a team of underwriters, ensuring adherence to credit programs and bank policy.
• Coordinate with Credit Administration, Loan Operations, Portfolio Management and Credit Risk.
• Oversee underwriting analyses and support new business activities with proper documentation.
• Identify risk rating changes and monitor covenant testing and policy exceptions.
• Review borrower financial condition for new and existing loan exposures and term modifications.
• Mentor and train underwriters; develop new loan products and improvements.
