Job summary

MSIG USA is seeking a seasoned claims professional to manage the investigation, evaluation, negotiation and resolution of complex commercial automobile and general liability claims in the Los Angeles area. The role involves proactive claim management from assignment through resolution with timely communication to insureds and brokers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; bachelor's degree preferred.
• 7+ years of progressively responsible commercial casualty claim experience.
• Experience handling complex auto and general liability claims.
• Experience managing litigated claims and negotiating settlements.

Responsibilities

• Investigates, evaluates and resolves complex commercial auto and general liability claims, including bodily injury, property damage, litigated matters and coverage issues.
• Develops documented claim strategies addressing liability, damages, causation, coverage, litigation posture and resolution opportunities; updates strategy as facts evolve.
• Establishes and maintains reserves and recommends values above authority with supporting analysis.
• Manages litigated claims with defense counsel, including plans, budgets, discovery, experts and trial prep; monitors expenses and compliance.
• Negotiates fair resolutions within authority and participates in mediations and trials as needed.
• Evaluates policy language and coverage issues, escalates where necessary, and documents the file with analysis.
• Escalates material developments to management; pursues subrogation and other recovery opportunities when supported.
