Job summary

The Medical College of Wisconsin is seeking a Director-level Billing & Collections professional to independently lead the professional charge capture and coding operations under the Director's guidance. You will mentor a large team, drive revenue optimization, ensure regulatory compliance, and pursue ongoing process improvements across workflows.

This role is primarily remote with occasional onsite presence; you will oversee Epic pre-AR coding, claims edits, budgeting, staffing, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required
• 8 years' experience in multi-payer physician reimbursement
• Experience in an academic medical setting
• Certifications in coding or healthcare compliance preferred (RHIA, RHIT, CPC, CCS-P, CHC)

Responsibilities

• Maintain charge capture timelines and follow up on lags
• Oversee Epic pre-AR coding, claims and edits/work-queues
• Develop and manage budget
• Schedule people and material resources
• Manager II had 9+ direct reports, greater than 50 indirect reports
• Coach and mentor staff; complete monthly rounding sessions
• Assist in recruitment and onboarding; promotions and corrective actions
• Prioritize and supervise work of direct reports and coding specialists
• Monitor regulatory changes to ensure compliance
• Oversee data analysis and reporting of charge capture
• Coordinate development of statistics, protocols, production and quality materials
• Organize meetings, site visits and events
• Oversee training for charge capture employees
• Coordinate liaison with stakeholders and report updates
• Participate in committees and other duties as assigned
