Job summary

Medical College of Wisconsin is seeking a Billing/Coding Specialist to perform CPT and ICD-10 coding, ensure accurate charge entry, and coordinate denial resolution. You will liaise with physicians and department staff to secure complete information for billing.

Ideal candidates hold CPC/Coding credentials and have 2+ years of coding experience, with strong attention to detail and teamwork in a healthcare setting. Remote work is allowed within MCW payroll states.

Qualifications

• Minimum education: high school diploma.
• Current coding certification (CPC, CPC-A, CCS-P or CCA) and/or RHIT/RHIA.
• 2 years of related coding experience preferred.
• Office experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assign or verify CPT and ICD-10 CM coding and modifiers per documentation.
• Resolve edits for electronic charges and ensure all claim data is accurate.
• Enter charges as needed and monitor flow.
• Coordinate with managers and staff to ensure proper billing information.
• Address coding and reimbursement issues with physicians and staff.
• Develop and maintain coding/billing protocols.
• Educate providers on documentation requirements and participate in orientations.
