Job summary

Medical College of Wisconsin seeks an experienced Billing & Collections Manager II to oversee professional charge capture, coding, and revenue cycle operations. You will mentor staff, optimize Epic pre-AR coding, and ensure regulatory compliance while driving process improvements.

The role is primarily remote with occasional onsite presence; you will coordinate with internal/external stakeholders, manage budgets, and report metrics to leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; experience substituted on an equivalent basis.
• 8 years' experience in multi-payer physician reimbursement with equivalent size scope.
• Experience within an academic medical setting preferred.
• Certification in coding and/or healthcare compliance strongly preferred (RHIA, RHIT, CPC, CCS-P, CHC).

Responsibilities

• Maintain charge capture timelines and follow up on lags.
• Oversee Epic pre-AR coding, claims, and account edits/work queues.
• Develop and manage the department budget.
• Schedule resources and supervise staff and reports.
• Coach, mentor, and conduct performance reviews; monthly rounding with the team.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and reporting to stakeholders.
