Job summary

CommonSpirit Health is seeking a Coding Auditor & Educator in the Mountain Region with advanced coding knowledge to support the Coding Service Center. You will lead audits, train staff, and develop coding education across the system, ensuring compliant practices.

The role involves onboarding, internal audits, and coordinating with leadership to standardize coding across facilities, while adapting to regulatory changes and strategic plans for coding education.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/G.E.D. required.
• Associate or Bachelor's degree in HIM preferred.
• 5 years coding experience in acute care.
• 2 years auditing/education experience.
• Epic and 3M 360 experience required.
• MS Office proficiency (Word/Excel/Outlook/PowerPoint).
• AHIMA or AAPC credentials required and maintained.

Responsibilities

• Answer coding and billing questions and onboard/train new staff.
• Perform coding audits and follow up education.
• Develop and deploy coding education across the system.
• Plan and conduct coding education with leadership.
• Promote standardization of coding practices.
• Monitor regulatory coding and billing changes for implementation.
• Participate in short- and long-term strategic planning for compliant coding.
