Job summary

SYSTEM West Virginia University Health System seeks a senior education/audit lead for its Coding staff. You will educate, supervise, and audit across ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, CPT, and MS-DRG assignments, ensuring compliance and accuracy.

You will develop curriculum, supervise staff development, and coordinate with medical staff and leadership to advance coding quality and education programs.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a HIT or equivalent program and five years of coding experience.
• Graduate of a Medical Coding Certification Program with five years experience.
• High School Diploma with eight years coding experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage activities of designated coding personnel in training.
• Oversee quality improvement audits and staff training.
• Act as expert coding resource to coders, providers, and revenue cycle.
• Serve as Super user for Coding-related EMR systems and update policies.
• Develop and maintain coding policies, procedures, and training materials.
• Communicate with Coding Leadership and stakeholders regularly.
• Organize and report on internal quality reviews.
• Design and use audit tools to monitor coding accuracy.
• Coordinate external audits and prepare final reports.
• Coordinate denial reviews and facilitate appeal letters.
• Ensure audit recommendations are implemented and data analyzed.
