Job summary

CommonSpirit is seeking a Coding Auditor & Educator to apply advanced ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, and CPT-4 coding to support the Coding Service Center and ensure compliant practices. You will onboard and train staff, perform audits, and develop coding education while monitoring regulatory changes.

You will work with leadership to conduct internal audits, provide follow-up education, and guide coding teams in resolving issues. Remote candidates in approved states are welcome.

Qualifications

• Five years coding in an acute care setting with inpatient and outpatient expertise.
• Two years of internal auditing and/or coding education.
• Epic and 3M 360 experience.
• Competency in inpatient and outpatient coding guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Provide written rationale and evidence for audit findings.
• Deliver educational feedback via emails, presentations, and training sessions.
• Guide coding staff and management in resolving coding issues.
• Identify documentation improvement opportunities affecting coding accuracy.
• Perform internal audits and follow-up education, monitoring trends across the system.
• Conduct pre-billing reviews of difficult cases and train staff as needed.
