Job summary

Southern Manufacturing Technologies, Inc. in Florida is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist for 2nd shift with a 20% pay premium and for weekend day shift with a 20% premium, and 40% premium for weekend 2nd shift.

You will set up and operate 3 to 5 axis CNC machines, inspect parts, and document quality results while meeting cycle times. The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, 5+ years setting up and running precision components, and strong blueprint reading and GD&T.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Degree or certification from a technical school; or two to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
5+ years’ experience setting up and running precision machined components required.
Prefer experience machining Aerospace components.
Thorough knowledge of blueprint reading required.
Thorough knowledge of GD&T required.
Strong math skills required.

Responsibilities

Set up and operate 3 to 5 axis CNC machines.
Inspect parts and document quality results.
Prove out, de-bug and give feedback on CNC programs.
Document how jobs are set up, run and inspected as thoroughly as possible.
Setup and operate secondary operations when cycle time of your primary machine allows.
Setup and operate manual equipment as necessary.
Monitor the work of operators assigned to you.
Provide on-the-job training.
Perform routine maintenance on machines and equipment.
Collaborate with others to resolve any problems.
Follow all procedures and alert your supervisor if procedures may need reviewed/updated.
Maintain a safety, clean, and orderly work environment.
