Job summary

The Senior Nursing Assistant (NA) at Good Samaritan Society - Mandan Sunset provides resident-centered care in a 128-bed long-term care setting, following care plans and assisting with daily living activities, transfers, and vital signs under RN supervision.

The role requires CNA certification, reliable evening shift, and adherence to infection control, documentation, and participation in restorative programs as needed; strong compassion and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred, but not required.
• Minimum age of 16.
• Two years' clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred.
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with the State Board of Nursing.
• Annual competency testing and 12 hours continuing education required.
• Restorative Nursing training within 6 months may be required.
• Possible Unlicensed Assistive Person (UAP) Registry certification where applicable.
• May be classified as Sanford Category II Driver depending on facility needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance under RN supervision.
• Document resident interactions and care outcomes; monitor and report changes in condition.
• Assist with transfers, range of motion, and activities of daily living (bathing, grooming, feeding).
• Support nutrition and dining experiences; assist with meals and hydration as needed.
• Assist and participate in restorative nursing programs and wellness activities.
