Job summary

Trellix is hiring a Staff Software Development Engineer to design and build a high-performance Cloud Threat Detection Platform. You will own architecture for submission pipelines, microservices, and web interfaces, while ensuring secure AWS infrastructure and FedRAMP-aligned compliance.

The role blends backend, frontend, and security responsibilities, requiring deep AWS expertise, Linux, Python, and CI/CD/IPaaS skills. Hybrid work with some office presence in Frisco, TX.

Qualifications

• 11+ years of professional software development experience.
• Deep AWS cloud architecture knowledge for large-scale systems.
• Linux proficiency and shell scripting.
• Excellent Python development and debugging skills.
• Strong REST, async APIs, and scalable microservices experience.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and IaC (GitHub Actions, Terraform).
• Full-stack web experience with Django/React/JS/HTML/CSS.
• Hands-on AWS infra including VPC, EC2, S3, Lambda, ECS/EKS, RDS, DynamoDB.
• Regulatory awareness: FedRAMP, data residency considerations.
• Ability to integrate AI tooling into development workflows.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop the Cloud Threat Detection Platform from concept to production.
• Lead high-throughput microservices and dynamic sandbox execution.
• Build modern web UIs and analyst dashboards.
• Design end-to-end AWS infrastructure and security controls.
• Apply AI tooling to streamline coding, reviews, and delivery.
• Ensure secure API boundaries and identity mechanisms.
• Enforce compliance and data sovereignty across regions.
• Create telemetry pipelines for observability and health metrics.
• Own production issues end-to-end with RCA and SLAs.
• Collaborate across engineering and threat research teams.
