Job summary

Trellix is seeking a Staff Software Development Engineer to lead the design and development of our Cloud Threat Detection Platform. You will architect high-throughput submission pipelines, microservices, and secure AWS infrastructure, while advancing AI-assisted engineering and secure development practices.

You will drive end-to-end ownership, contributing to full-stack web UI, Python-based services, and security-compliant multi-region architectures in a hybrid role based near Frisco, TX.

Qualifications

• Eleven+ years of professional software development experience building high-throughput microservices and cloud platforms.
• Deep, expert-level knowledge of AWS cloud architecture for large-scale systems.
• Proficiency in Python, Linux, and full-stack web technologies.
• Strong understanding of REST, async APIs, and data structures.

Responsibilities

• Design and Develop: lead design and engineering of the Cloud Threat Detection Platform, including core submission pipelines and microservices.
• Full-Stack & Web UI: build modern interfaces and dashboards using React, Django, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Bootstrap, AJAX, and jQuery.
• High-Volume Submission Pipelines: architect resilient pipelines handling millions of API requests daily with low latency.
• End-to-End AWS Infrastructure: design and manage secure AWS environments (VPC, EC2, S3, Lambda, ECS, EKS, WAF, RDS).
• AI-Assisted Engineering: integrate AI tools to streamline code development and reviews.
• Identity & Security: implement OAuth2, JWT, SAML, and secure API boundaries.
• Compliance & Sovereignty: enforce multi-region data architecture per FedRAMP, US/EU/APJ/Canada rules.
• Observability & Telemetry: build telemetry pipelines with OpenSearch, DynamoDB, RDS, Athena.
• Resilience & SDL: ensure secure, resilient apps with SDL and vulnerability assessments.
• Technical Ownership: write design docs, manage production issues end-to-end.
