Job summary

Ford Motor Company is seeking a technically strong Platform Engineer with 5+ years of experience in DevOps/SRE to mentor engineers and improve platform operations. The role focuses on OpenShift/Kubernetes management, cloud infrastructure on GCP/Azure, and driving automation to enhance reliability and efficiency.

You will collaborate across teams to shape the platform roadmap, ensure service quality through SLAs and SLOs, and support incident management with post-mortems to prevent future issues.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in platform, DevOps, or site reliability engineering teams.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology or a related technical field.
• Deep technical expertise with container orchestration platforms, specifically OpenShift and/or Kubernetes.
• Hands-on experience with managing and operating cloud infrastructure on GCP and/or Azure.

Responsibilities

• Build and lead a high-performing team of platform engineers.
• Develop and operate OpenShift and Kubernetes clusters on GCP/Azure with high availability and security.
• Define, monitor and meet SLAs, SLOs, and MTTR to serve internal customers.
• Drive IaC automation and enforce best practices for scalability and efficiency.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align platform roadmap with business needs.
• Provide incident management support and post-mortems to prevent recurrence.
