Job summary

Compass is seeking a Senior Security Engineer, Cloud Security, to build secure, scalable web apps and platform for the real estate industry. You will lead security as a service, automate guardrails, and collaborate with engineering teams to implement secure defaults.

Requirements include 5+ years in security with 2+ years in cloud security, strong AWS/Azure skills, CNAPP tools (Wiz, Orca, Lacework, Upwind), and programming in Python or Go. Docker/Kubernetes experience a plus.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in a security-related role, with at least 2+ years focused on cloud security.
• Hands-on experience securing AWS (IAM, EC2, VPC, ECR/ECS/EKS) and knowledge of Azure/GCP.
• Proven experience with a CNAPP or similar cloud security tool (e.g., Wiz, Orca Security, Lacework, Upwind).
• Proficiency in at least one programming language (Python or Go) for automation.
• Strong understanding of security principles: least privilege, defense-in-depth, security monitoring.
• Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes.

Responsibilities

• Empower engineers with safe-by-default tooling and automate security requirements.
• Design and implement scalable systems and controls for cloud infrastructure security.
• Collaborate with engineering and security teams to deploy security enhancements across cloud infrastructure.
• Build enduring partnerships with Engineering to drive security initiatives.
• Investigate security events and guide teams to improve security practices.
• Assess security for third-party integrations and emerging AI tools to protect data integrity.
