Compass is seeking a Senior Security Engineer to lead security as a service for its cloud platform, focusing on safe-by-default tooling and scalable controls across AWS and Azure. You will partner with product and engineering teams to harden our web and mobile apps and perform proactive security assessments.

The role emphasizes automation, threat modeling, and designing secure architectures while guiding development teams to achieve stronger security outcomes in a fast-paced real estate

Qualifications

• 5+ years in a security-related role, with 2+ years focused on cloud security.
• Strong understanding of cloud platforms and security features, particularly AWS IAM, EC2, VPC; container services like ECR, ECS, EKS; foundational Azure/GCP knowledge.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language (Python or Go) for automation.
• Knowledge of core security principles (least privilege, defense-in-depth, monitoring).
• Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes).
• Experience with CNAPP or similar cloud security tool (e.g., Wiz, Orca, Lacework, Upwind).

Responsibilities

• Empower engineers with safe-by-default tooling and automate security requirements to maintain engineering velocity.
• Design and implement scalable security controls for cloud infrastructure.
• Collaborate with engineering and security teams to deploy security enhancements across cloud infrastructure.
• Build enduring partnerships across the Engineering organization.
• Assist in investigating security events and guide teams to improve security practices.
• Conduct security assessments for third-party integrations and emerging AI tools while preserving data integrity and compliance.
