Compass is seeking a Senior Security Engineer, Cloud Security, to partner with engineering and security teams in Seattle. You will design, automate, and operate secure-by-default controls across our cloud infrastructure, guiding developments from the ground up.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in a security role, 2+ years in cloud security.
• Strong understanding of AWS IAM, EC2, VPC, ECR, ECS, EKS; basic Azure/GCP knowledge.
• CNAPP or similar cloud security tool experience (e.g., Wiz, Orca, Lacework, Upwind).
• Proficient in at least one language for automation (Python/Go).
• Knowledge of least privilege, defense-in-depth, and security monitoring.
• Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes.

Responsibilities

• Empower engineers with safe-by-default tooling and automated security guardrails.
• Design and implement scalable controls to secure cloud infrastructure.
• Collaborate with engineering and security teams to deploy critical security enhancements.
• Build enduring partnerships across the Engineering org to improve security posture.
• Investigate and respond to security events; guide teams on remediation.
• Assess security for third‑party integrations and emerging AI tools.
