Job summary

Compass is seeking a Senior Security Engineer to strengthen cloud security for our real estate platform. You will design scalable controls, automate security tooling, and partner with engineering teams to push safe-by-default practices.

You will lead assessments of cloud deployments across AWS, Azure, and GCP, perform threat modeling, and respond to incidents while driving security improvements. This role requires hands-on expertise and strong communication.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in a security-related role, with 2+ years in cloud security.
• Strong understanding of cloud platforms and security features (AWS IAM, EC2, VPC; container services).
• Proficiency in at least one programming language for automation (Python, Go).

Responsibilities

• Empower engineers with safe-by-default tooling and guardrails.
• Design and implement scalable cloud security controls.
• Collaborate with engineering to deploy security enhancements across cloud infrastructure.
• Build high-trust partnerships across the Engineering org.
• Investigate security events and guide remediation efforts.
• Assess security for third-party integrations and emerging AI tools.
