Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Senior Cloud Security Architect in the United States to lead hands-on security design across Microsoft 365 Commercial and GCC High, Azure, and AWS, including hybrid services. You will drive secure AI deployments, threat modeling, and deployment automation for complex cloud platforms.

Requires eight+ years in cloud/security with hands‑on design and implementation experience, plus familiarity with government/defense security requirements.

Qualifications

• Eight or more years of relevant experience in cloud/security/infrastructure engineering.
• Hands‑on design, implementation, and testing of cloud controls.
• Experience with AI/ML security, generative AI, or copilots is preferred.
• Security pattern development for Microsoft 365, Azure, AWS, and hybrid environments.
• Knowledge of NIST/DFARS/ITAR or equivalent regulatory frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement security controls across MS 365, Azure, AWS, and hybrid environments.
• Lead threat modeling and security reviews for new services and high‑risk use cases.
• Perform hands‑on configuration, testing, and troubleshooting of cloud security controls.
• Develop reusable IaC components and deployment automation for security policies.
• Coordinate with Risk and Compliance for assessments and evidence gathering.
• Mentor engineers and provide hands‑on support on complex cloud and AI security issues.
