Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Senior Cloud Security Architect to lead hands-on security design across Microsoft 365 Commercial, GCC High, Azure, AWS, and hybrid environments. The role focuses on secure AI adoption, threat modeling, and pattern-based security controls, with emphasis on governance, testing, and operational support.

Ideal candidates bring extensive cloud security experience, strong hands-on skills, and the ability to translate complex regulatory requirements into practical security

Qualifications

• Eight+ years in relevant security, with five+ years in cloud/security/infrastructure engineering.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in cybersecurity/IT/CS/engineering or related field.
• Hands-on knowledge of Microsoft Azure/AWS security capabilities in hybrid environments.
• Experience designing, deploying, and troubleshooting controls for cloud identity, network segmentation, data protection, logging, and workload protection.
• Experience applying cloud security principles to AI/ML, including threat modeling and control design.
• Experience using infrastructure as code, source control, scripting, and deployment automation.
• Experience with threat modeling and translating security/regulatory requirements into working solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement security controls across MS 365 Commercial and GCC High, Azure, AWS, and hybrid environments.
• Lead threat modeling for new services and high-risk use cases.
• Develop reusable security patterns for AI and agentic systems; ensure secure data handling and access controls.
• Collaborate with Risk and Compliance to translate frameworks into technical controls.
• Mentor engineers and provide hands-on support for cloud and AI security issues.
