Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. in Cupertino, CA is seeking a Sr. Cloud Hardware Development Engineer to help build, deploy, and scale the AWS network hardware across global data centers.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and vendors to design high-speed optical and electrical solutions, simulate designs, and create test plans to ensure reliability, performance, and cost efficiency.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of work experience on optical communication systems or components.
• 8+ years of experience working with high speed signals and signal and power integrity in electronic devices
• 4+ years of experience with optical transceivers and IEEE standards.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with vendors/manufacturers to evaluate new hardware and software features. Create implementations plans for incorporating them into the network.
• Simulate and accurately mode high speed electrical and optical designs
• Automate electrical and optical test plans helping qualifying optical modules.
• Collaborate with vendors/manufactures in defining and developing new electrical and optical components and modules.
• Work with network operations team in identifying operation issues and improving quality and RMA process.
