Job summary

Global Payments is seeking a Sr. Cloud & Infrastructure Engineer to design, optimize, and automate cloud infrastructure supporting our business platforms. You will work across AWS and Azure environments, focusing on automation, security, and reliability.

You will own cloud designs, provisioning, and configuration management while mentoring teammates and collaborating with product teams. This on-site role in the U.S. emphasizes scalable, compliant infrastructure and strong communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a similar field, or equivalent work experience.
• Design and operations experience in both AWS and Azure environments.
• 5-7 years of systems administration, design, engineering or commensurate IT experience.
• Experience with enterprise repositories and CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Enterprise, Jenkins, Harness).
• Strong IaC skills with Terraform, Ansible; scripting with PowerShell and Python.
• Strong knowledge of Linux and Windows Server; automate via scripts and tooling.
• Experience with AD, DHCP, DNS, DFS, Group Policy; virtualization tools and life cycle orchestration.
• Understanding of config management and software deployment principles.

Responsibilities

• Formulate cloud infrastructure designs primarily in AWS and Azure to meet company standards.
• Support automated provisioning, hardening, and firewall rules; leverage PaaS and on-premises/hybrid solutions.
• Collaborate with business owners, product, and applications teams on engineering efforts.
• Maintain installation and configuration procedures; drive automation.
• Mentor team members and share knowledge of leveraged tools.
• Develop and enforce technical policies and procedures; ensure up-to-date documentation.
• Drive security and compliance across managed systems; improve stability and availability.
• Work with project managers on progress, issues, and solutions.
