Job summary

Global Payments Inc. is seeking a Sr. Cloud & Infrastructure Engineer to design, optimize, and automate our cloud infrastructure supporting business platforms.

You’ll own cloud designs (AWS/Azure), automate provisioning, and improve security and reliability across multiple projects. Requires 5–7 years in IT, strong IaC with Terraform/Ansible, scripting (PowerShell, Python), and experience with GitHub Enterprise, Jenkins, and Harness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or similar field or equivalent work experience.
• Design and operations experience in both AWS and Azure environments.
• 5-7 years of systems administration, design, engineering or commensurate IT technical experience.
• Experience with GitHub Enterprise, deployment management and CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Harness).
• Experience with multiple scripting languages and strong IaC (Terraform, Ansible, PowerShell, Python).
• Strong knowledge of Linux and Windows Server; scripted/automated administration.
• Experience with Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, DFS and Group Policy (automation, setup, optimization).
• Understanding of VMware ESXi, vCenter, VDIs, etc.
• Understanding of configuration management and software deployment principles.

Responsibilities

• Formulate and carry-out cloud infra designs, primarily in AWS and Azure.
• Support automated build activities, provisioning, hardening, and firewall rules.
• Contribute to engineering projects, partnering with owners, product and applications teams.
• Maintain install/config procedures and drive automation.
• Provide cross-training and share team tooling knowledge.
• Develop and communicate policies and procedures; keep details up-to-date.
• Drive security and compliance for managed systems.
• Improve stability and availability of infrastructure services.
• Collaborate with project managers and infra coordinators on progress.
