Job summary

Global Payments is seeking a Sr. Cloud & Infrastructure Engineer to design, optimize, support and automate our cloud infrastructure across business platforms.

You will work with AWS, Azure, and hybrid setups, driving automation, security, and reliability across multiple engineering projects. You will own deployment design, provisioning, and policy enforcement while mentoring teammates and ensuring up-to-date procedures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• Design and operations experience in AWS and Azure.
• 5-7 years of systems administration, design, engineering or commensurate IT technical experience.
• Experience with enterprise repositories, namely GitHub Enterprise, as well as deployment management and CI/CD pipelines, namely through Jenkins and Harness.
• Experience with multiple active scripting languages and strong IaC, including Terraform, Ansible, PowerShell and Python.
• Strong knowledge of multiple flavors of Linux and Windows Server, along with the experience in administering these systems through scripted/automated processes.
• Strong knowledge with infrastructure services and systems, including Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, DFS and Group Policy (automation, setup, implementation, optimization, etc.)
• Understanding of the workings and operation of virtual environments, including VMware ESXi, vCenter, vCAC, VDIs, etc.)
• Working knowledge of implementing automation orchestration across all life cycle environments.
• Understanding of configuration management and software deployment principles (experience with one or more configuration management and/or software deployment systems preferred)

• Design and optimize cloud infrastructure in AWS and Azure.
• Automate provisioning, hardening, and firewall policies.
• Own engineering efforts across projects with cross-team collaboration.
• Maintain installation and configuration procedures and drive automation.
• Provide cross-training and knowledge sharing within the team.
• Establish and support technical policies and procedures with management.
• Drive security and compliance for systems managed by the team.
• Improve stability and availability of infrastructure services.
• Coordinate with Project Managers on progress and solutions.
