Job summary

Samsara is hiring a Senior Engineer in the Infrastructure org to advance the cloud foundations behind every Samsara product. You will reduce systemic production risk, enable growth, and build standardized infrastructure-as-code workflows across multi-account, multi-region AWS environments.

You will bring deep expertise in one or more areas such as compute, networking, storage, or control planes, and apply it across our platforms.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience designing and building software, infrastructure, or distributed systems.
• Deep expertise in at least one area: compute and workload orchestration, networking, storage and stateful systems, or cloud infrastructure control planes.
• Strong software-engineering fundamentals in Go, Python, Java, or similar language.
• Hands-on experience designing and operating infrastructure on a major public cloud platform; AWS experience is preferred.
• Experience using infrastructure as code, such as Terraform, to safely manage production infrastructure.
• Knowledge of capacity management, failure domains, observability, rollout safety, and production recovery.

Responsibilities

• Set technical direction for major infrastructure systems and lead ambiguous initiatives spanning multiple teams.
• Design, build, and operate reliable cloud platforms with depth in compute, networking, storage, stateful systems, or control planes.
• Improve scalability, capacity management, isolation, recovery, and cost efficiency of production infrastructure.
• Build IaC workflows and reusable automation for self-service provisioning, testing, rollout, reconciliation, rollback, and drift prevention.
• Identify shared failure modes and build safeguards to prevent broad customer impact.
• Contribute to multi-account, multi-region AWS architectures, including GovCloud.
