Samsara Inc. is seeking a Staff Application Security Engineer to lead vulnerability management across cloud, firmware/IoT, and corporate systems. You will shape the program, drive remediation, and scale automation while collaborating with engineering teams to embed secure practices.

The role emphasizes architectural direction, mentoring, and risk communication to leadership. This is a remote US‑based position supporting Samsara’s mission to secure connected operations at scale.

Qualificações

• 10+ years of experience as cloud/security engineer with broad vulnerability management exposure.
• Ability to independently set technical and architectural direction for a security program.
• Experience with vulnerability scoring frameworks such as CVSS/EPSS.
• Deep understanding of SAST, DAST, and SCA.
• Hands-on use of AI/LLM tools in security workflows.
• Experience with C/C++ related to firmware/embedded systems is a plus.
• Background in cloud-native/ AI-forward environments and security automation platforms.

Responsabilidades

• Lead strategy, operations, and continuous improvement of Samsara's vulnerability management program.
• Reduce MTTR across the backlog and meet SLA targets.
• Build automation and tooling to scale detection and response across cloud, firmware/IoT, and corporate systems.
• Define technical direction and translate priorities into actionable execution plans.
• Mentor engineers on secure design and remediation practices.
• Communicate risk and remediation tradeoffs to engineering leadership with clarity.
• Participate in security incident investigations for high‑profile vulnerabilities.
• Be on-call to support critical vulnerability response.
