Job summary

Global Payments Inc. is seeking a Sr. Cloud & Infrastructure Engineer to design and optimize cloud infrastructure supporting our payment platforms.

You will automate provisioning, hardening, and policy enforcement across AWS and Azure, working with engineering and business teams to deliver scalable, secure solutions. You will lead automation initiatives, maintain configuration procedures, and mentor teammates while ensuring compliance and high availability of services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field or equivalent work experience.
• Design and operations experience in both AWS and Azure environments.
• 5-7 years of systems administration, design, engineering or commensurate IT technical experience.
• Experience with enterprise repositories and deployment management, CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Enterprise, Jenkins, Harness).
• Experience with scripting languages and strong IaC (Terraform, Ansible, PowerShell, Python).
• Strong knowledge of Linux and Windows Server in scripted/automated environments.
• Knowledge of infrastructure services (AD, DHCP, DNS, FDS, Group Policy) and virtualization (VMware ESXi, vCenter, VDIs).
• Understanding of automation orchestration across lifecycle environments and configuration management principles.

Responsibilities

• Design and optimize cloud infrastructure across AWS and Azure.
• Automate provisioning, hardening, and firewall policies; leverage PaaS offerings.
• Collaborate with business owners and teams on new solutions design and optimization.
• Maintain installation/config procedures and drive automation.
• Provide cross-training and knowledge sharing within the team.
• Establish and support technical policies and procedures with stakeholders.
• Drive security and compliance efforts for managed systems.
• Improve stability and availability of infrastructure services.
• Coordinate with project managers on progress, issues, and solutions.
