Job summary

Early Warning is seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer to lead the design, implementation, and optimization of scalable, secure infrastructure during our multi-year cloud journey to AWS. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-performance cloud-native solutions while controlling costs.

The role requires deep experience with AWS services (EC2, EKS, Lambda, RDS, S3), Kubernetes, Terraform, IaC, and CI/CD, plus a proven track record in security and compliance (PCI-DSS, SOC 2).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field.
• 7+ years in Cloud Engineering or DevOps with 3+ years AWS.
• Strong AWS core services and Kubernetes knowledge.
• Experience with security & compliance controls (PCI‑DSS, SOC 2, FFIEC).
• Experience maintaining Infrastructure as Code with Terraform.
• Experience in observability at scale and on-call rotation.

Responsibilities

• Design and optimize cloud-native solutions on AWS with cost awareness.
• Troubleshoot complex multi-layer infrastructure issues across teams.
• Ensure cloud environments meet regulatory requirements (PCI-DSS, SOC 2, FFIEC).
• Implement disaster recovery and high availability strategies.
• Develop and maintain IAM, VPC, encryption and key management practices.
• Promote IaC using Terraform and CI/CD best practices.
• Support security configurations, patching, and vulnerability management.
• Create comprehensive technical documentation and dashboards.
