Job summary

Early Warning is seeking a Senior Engineer - Cloud Engineering to drive scalable, secure cloud infrastructure as we migrate critical apps to AWS. You will design, implement, and optimize cloud solutions, enforce security/compliance controls, and support 24/7 on-call operations across cross-functional teams.

You will work with Terraform, Kubernetes (EKS), Docker, and modern observability stacks, delivering resilient, cost-efficient cloud systems while aligning with PCI-DSS, SOC 2, and FFIEC

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• 7+ years in Cloud Engineering or DevOps, with 3+ years AWS hands-on.
• Strong AWS core services knowledge (EC2, EKS, Lambda, RDS, S3, IAM) and Kubernetes.
• Hands-on Docker experience and Linux environments.
• Experience delivering business-critical systems to market.
• Familiar with CI/CD, secure coding, and Agile/Scrum/LEAN.
• Security & compliance controls aligned with PCI-DSS, SOC 2, FFIEC.
• Infrastructure as Code with Terraform.
• Observability at scale (monitoring/logging) and incident response.
• Excellent documentation, communication, and prioritization.
• AWS certifications and ability to work in the US.

Responsibilities

• Implements and optimizes cloud-native solutions on AWS with cost awareness.
• Designs cloud infrastructure meeting regulatory and security requirements.
• Investigates complex incidents and participates in 24/7 on-call rotation.
• Ensures cloud environments meet PCI-DSS, SOC 2, FFIEC controls and audits.
• Implements disaster recovery and high availability strategies.
• Maintains cloud security best practices including IAM, VPC, encryption.
• Advances IaC with Terraform and CI/CD best practices.
• Supports vulnerability management and patching SLAs.
• Produces thorough technical documentation of infrastructure.
• Grows observability via Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/Splunk stacks.
• Shapes technical plans and backlog for production delivery.
