Job summary

Cox Automotive Inc. in Draper, UT is seeking a Database Administrator to ensure day-to-day health, reliability, and performance of enterprise databases hosted on AWS.

The role focuses on PostgreSQL/MySQL on Linux with Oracle 19c experience welcome, reporting to the Lead DBA within established standards. Responsibilities include monitoring, backups, patching, on‑call rotations, automation scripting, and collaborating with development teams during deployments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent with 4+ years of database administration experience.
• Experience in PostgreSQL/MySQL on Linux and Oracle 19c is preferred.
• Solid backup, recovery, and RBAC security knowledge.
• Cloud AWS experience with RDS and EC2 is required.
• Proficient in writing SQL and shell scripting for ops tasks.

Responsibilities

• Monitor health, performance, and availability of production, QA, and development databases.
• Perform backups, restores, patches, and on-call rotation duties.
• Automate recurring tasks with UNIX/Linux scripts and scheduling tools.
• Collaborate with development teams during deployments and migrations.
• Assist with performance tuning and query optimization.
