Job summary

Cox Automotive is hiring a Database Administrator to ensure the health, reliability, and performance of enterprise databases across AWS and Linux environments. The role focuses on PostgreSQL/MySQL on Linux, with Oracle 19c experience welcomed, under the Lead DBA guidance.

Responsibilities include daily ops, maintenance, backups, performance tuning, and collaboration with application teams during deployments and testing. A hybrid work model is supported.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/related field with 4+ years DBA experience.
• Expertise in PostgreSQL on Linux/AWS RDS or MySQL on Linux/AWS RDS.
• Solid backup/recovery strategies knowledge.
• SQL scripting and UNIX/Linux bash proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Monitor health, performance, and availability of Production, QA, and Development databases.
• Execute scheduled maintenance, backups, and upgrades.
• Support development teams with data loads, migrations, and queries.
• Collaborate with the Lead DBA on capacity planning and DR testing.
