Job summary

RegEd is seeking a Senior Database Administrator to maintain and improve on-premise and cloud databases, focusing on performance, security, and reliability. You will design database objects, optimize queries, and resolve incidents within SLA while collaborating with the Architecture and Data teams.

The role requires extensive SQL experience, Azure cloud expertise, and a proactive approach to improving data infrastructure, monitoring, and reporting capabilities.

Qualifications

• 7+ years database analysis, programming or similar experience.
• Minimum 4 years’ experience as a Senior Database Developer or equivalent.
• Extensive hands-on experience in SQL 2016 and higher.
• Experience with cloud-based database systems in Azure using Managed Instance, Azure SQL Hyperscale, Azure SQL DB, and VMs.
• Experience with complex database procedures, functions and triggers.
• Understanding of execution plans and dynamic SQL.
• Strong understanding of database structures and practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, create, and maintain database objects in on-premise and cloud databases.
• Improve performance through query and index optimization.
• Respond to database-related alerts and incidents within SLA.
• Lead investigation and resolution of database incidents including blocking and deadlocks.
• Build and maintain database monitoring infrastructure for alerts and dashboards.
• Ensure database security and compliance using encryption and masking.
• Advise on data retention, tiering, and archive strategies.
